Brazing & Welding Course: Make a metal Stool

Our one-day metal furniture making course will introduce you to the basics of MIG Welding and Brazing. You will learn about fabrication (making) skills, tools and processes needed to build metal furniture. By learning these essential making skills to Braze metal joinery, bend steel tube and finish work using an angle grinder. You will be free to make your own contemporary furniture in the future. You will get you familiar with stationary workshop machinery to so that you can build your confidence to create your own contemporary stool.

In the morning you will practise MIG welding Skills and create beautiful Brazed joinery. Before cutting lengths of mild steel tubing on the band saw, then use the tube bender to create symmetrical curves which form the stools legs. You're learn about the use of templates to create metal furniture and join all the parts together in an assembly JIG.

By the end of the day you will take away a sturdy, stylish stool for your home or office, plus an understanding of welding, brazing and fabrication. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone keen to start working with metal.

The day will be led by Richard Evans, an experienced metal fabricator and designer. All materials required for this course are included in the price.
